Therapy for Men

For smart, capable men who are ready to look honestly at their lives.

You've probably gotten pretty far by being capable. By figuring things out. Working hard. Taking care of yourself and other people. Pushing through. Staying independent.

Those qualities can take you a long way. They can also make it surprisingly difficult to notice when something isn't working anymore.

Therapy can be a place to slow down, get curious about what's actually happening, and develop more freedom in how you respond—to yourself, to the people you love, and to the life you're building.

I don't need you to be a "good therapy client."

You can be angry. You can be confused. You can tell me something you're embarrassed about. You can swear. You can have no idea what you're feeling. You can think something I'm saying is completely ridiculous.

I'm still going to be there.

I'm warm and I'm direct. I'll listen carefully, but I won't bullshit you. If I think something important is happening, I'll tell you. If I think you're avoiding something, I'll probably notice. And I'll respect you enough not to make decisions for you.

I want therapy to be a place where you can be honest about what's actually happening—not where you have to figure out the right thing to say or become the person you think you're supposed to be.

We'll pay attention to what happens in real time: what happens when you're angry, overwhelmed, restless, shut down, disconnected, or trying very hard to keep things under control.

We'll look at the patterns you've developed, where they came from, and whether they're still serving you.

We don't have to turn you into someone you're not.

The point isn't to make you more sensitive, more emotionally expressive, or somehow more "therapeutic."

It's to give you more choice.

Sometimes that means learning to recognize what you're feeling before it turns into anger or shutdown. Sometimes it means learning to ask for what you need. Sometimes it means understanding why you keep making the same relationship choices. Sometimes it means figuring out why your life looks good on paper while something inside you feels off.

And sometimes there are practical things to investigate, too—like ADHD, anxiety, depression, substance use, burnout, or other factors that may be affecting how you're living.

We get curious rather than assuming we already know the answer.

I work particularly well with men navigating:
  • Relationship difficulties, divorce, separation, or infidelity
  • Major life transitions and questions about what comes next
  • ADHD or the possibility that ADHD may be part of the picture
  • Family-of-origin and developmental wounds
  • Difficulty identifying or expressing needs and emotions
  • Anxiety, overwhelm, or feeling chronically "on"
  • Burnout, restlessness, or disconnection
  • Repeating relationship or life patterns that aren't working
  • Questions about identity, purpose, intimacy, and how you want to live

The goal is to stay present when things get hard. To understand the patterns that keep running your life. To know what you want. To have relationships where you can be known and still be yourself.

And to become someone your future self is glad you became.

If you're curious about what that might look like, let's talk.
I offer free 20-minute video consultations to see whether we're a good fit.
